The Heart of Evangelism
Scripture:
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations." — Matthew 28:19 (ESV)
Reflective Question:
Does your heart burn to see others come to know Christ?
Evangelism is not a task for the select few, nor is it a burden to be carried reluctantly. It should be the very heartbeat of the redeemed soul in Christ! The lips that have tasted and seen the goodness of God, if truly transformed by the gospel, cannot help but to proclaim it to everyone they meet. Whether it is on the corner of a street or in conversation with a friend, the heart that has been set ablaze by the love of Christ cannot remain silent about it.
Oh, how urgent is the call to bring people to God’s everlasting love. Souls are perishing in the pit of sin, eternity hangs in the balance, and yet too many of us remain silent out of fear, complacency, or shame. Nevertheless, let it not be so with us! If we truly believe that Christ is the only hope, that His cross is the only remedy for sin, then how can we withhold such good news?
Do not wait for perfect words or the right moment — speak to everyone you meet about the God who saves. The gospel does not rest on your eloquent speech or linguistic articulation, but it relies on the power of God alone. Tell the world of His love, declare His mercy, and let the Holy Spirit do the work. The fields are ripe for harvest. Will you not labour for the souls who long for freedom in Christ?
Prayer:
”God of Hope, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and ignite within me a passion for the lost. Let my heart break for those who do not know You, and give me boldness to proclaim the gospel without compromise or shame. Use me as Your instrument to bring sinners to the foot of the cross.”
Amen.
