Living by Faith, Not by Sight
Scripture:
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV)
Reflective Question:
Are you trusting more in what you can see or in the promises God has spoken?
Devotional:
Faith isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about trusting the One who does. Walking by faith means stepping forward even when the path ahead is unclear. It means to stand firm in your trust in God, because you know that He is working out all things for your good.
Our eyes deceive us all the time. They make us believe that we have the answers we are looking for. We assume with despair, and we think that the worst will unfold. Circumstances may scream, “It’s impossible!” But faith whispers, “With God, all things are possible.” The people of Israel faced the Red Sea, yet God made a way. Peter saw turbulent and unpredictable waves, but Christ called him to walk on water in faith.
Faith is therefore not the absence of fear; but it is moving forward despite our negative thoughts and assumptions. Faith is not about seeing the finished product because it suits our timeframe. Faith is about trusting that the Master Artist knows what he is doing, and that it will turn out beautiful. Remember that even when life feels uncertain, God’s promises will always remain unshaken.
Prayer:
“Father, help me to walk by faith, not by what I see. When doubts arise, remind me of Your faithfulness. I trust You, even when I don’t understand the path ahead.”
Amen
