Trusting God’s Timing
Scripture:
“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV)
Reflective Question:
Where in your life do you need to surrender to God’s perfect timing?
We live in a world of instant gratification; microwave meals, quick fixes, instant answers, immediate results. But God’s timing doesn’t follow our clocks. The power of God alone is much greater than the hands of time. In the same way that every living thing is appointed to die, the infinite power of God is the one who has appointed time to the motion it follows. Yet — how can we trust someone that cannot relate to our timeframe and who doesn’t see from our linear perspective?
This is because we must firstly under that God’s timing is not like ours; for with Him time is founded on eternity. He uses time to teach us about His sovereignty. However, it’s understandable how waiting can feel like wasting, but in God’s hands, it’s a process of preparation. Delays aren’t denials; they’re being used by our Heavenly Father for divine appointments, shaping us for what’s ahead. Trusting His timing means believing that He’s working, even when we don’t see it yet manifested in our earthly realities.
Consider a seed buried in the soil. It appears lifeless, yet transformation is happening underground, unseen. In the same manner, your prayers, hopes, and dreams may feel buried, but they’re not forgotten. God is at work, growing something beautiful in His perfect time. We just can’t see all the great things he is preparing for us in the future…yet.
Prayer:
“Lord, teach me to trust Your timing. When I grow impatient, remind me that Your plans are worth the wait. Help me rest in the knowledge that You make all things beautiful in Your time. Through Jesus Christ, Your son.
Amen.
